W00 vs CAR should be an "even steven" series. Maybe six or seven games. Two tough teams!
KOM vs FwH is tough to predict. I think FwH is the favourite but who knows, Team Komarov has made it to this point so no underestimating anymore. Let the best team win!

EHL Playoffs: Woodhands vs Wrong Door Danglers

Hello guys! It´s the second round of the EHL playoffs! Only 8 teams left!

We are going against Wrong Door Danglers. They have a really good goalie and they play solid teamplay with good passing. It´s going to be a tough series. Once again, we have to bring our A-game to these games.

First three games on thursday the 6th and the rest of the games on monday the 10th.

That´s about it for a preview! :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We weren´t able to get our top scoring winger on ice for the first three games, but we decided that it´s not going to be a problem. Besides, we have some solid back-ups.

1. Woodhands - Wrong Door Danglers  5-2
2. Woodhands - Wrong Door Danglers  1-2
3. Wrong Door Danglers - Woodhands  0-1

Game 1 (consolehockey.net)
Game 2 (consolehockey.net)
Game 3 (consolehockey.net)

Good three games. I´m not really lying if I say that their goalie won that second game for them. Anyways, nothing wrong with that, it´s a privilege to have a goalie like that on your side. We know that too. ;) 2-1 lead after 3. We are not going to let this slip to game seven!

4. Wrong Door Danglers - Woodhands   2-5
5. Woodhands - Wrong Door Danglers   1-2
6. Wrong Door Danglers - Woodhands   0-5

Game 4 (consolehockey.net)
Game 5 (consolehockey.net)
Game 6 (consolehockey.net)

Woodhands wins the series 4-2. Thanks Wrong Door Danglers for great games!

Next up: Carlsberg HC! Those guys just sent RtN (rank 1 team) off the tournament, so it´s going to be tougher than ever! Will see what happens.

EHL Playoffs: Woodhands vs Deadly Phantoms HC

Round 1 games against these solid germans. We played three games on monday and the rest of the games on thursday. We were a bit nervous because DPH is actually a really good team. These guys play really well together. Their defence is solid and they make these quick turnovers from defence to attack. They are also very creative. They can finish in many different ways.

1. Woodhands - Deadly Phantoms HC   2-3
2. Woodhands - Deadly Phantoms HC   3-2
3. Deadly Phantoms HC - Woodhands   2-6
4. Deadly Phantoms HC - Woodhands   4-5 OT
5. Woodhands - Deadly Phantoms HC   6-2

Series 4-1 to the Woodhands. Games were actually really tight. Thanks DPH! Respect!

EHL update

EHL playoffs are here. We won group D with 27 points and had the best points per game average. Our first opponent is Deadly Phantoms HC from Germany. I know that they are pretty good! No room for errors. First three games tonight!

1. Woodhands (1.93) vs 16. Deadly Phantoms HC (1.31)
2. Team Komarov (1.81) vs 15. Blessed 1s (1.33)
3. Remember the Name (1.78) vs 14. murohoki (1.36)
4. Sinister Otters (1.75) vs 13. Wrong Door Danglers (1.36)
5. Systemet OHC (1.72) vs 12. Extraordinary Gentlemans (1.39)
6. IIONEII (1.67) vs 11. KsE Teutons (1.43)
7. The United Knights (1.61) vs 10. Carlsberg HC (1.44)
8. Face Wash Hockey (1.50) vs 9. UNIQUE (1.44)

I think that Remember the Name, The United Knights and IIONEII are the three favourites. Points per game average doesnt do the right for those who had a tough group. That´s why it might deceive some people.

Anyways, let the games begin!

Woodhands vs KsE Teutons

Two games against this great german team, top15 at least, in the overall standings. We expected tight and exciting games!

Game 1:

Our line-up: Kookasi-CiciStar-Maskuta-Pqohi-Raisinger-Octobussy
Their line-up: Hemsky91-KsE-Legendary-KsE-Lycidas-Sean_Rammer-Fetzer29-schmid0_55

Our homegame. Our scouting failed, because we thought that Fetzer would play goalie. Anyways, that did not affect on our performance. We were not able to play any warm-up games before this one. Although, we were mentally ready! First period started and after five minutes we opened the score. Nice little passing between our wingers and Kookasi scored, 1-0. Before the period ended, we scored again. Maskuta stole the puck in the corner and finished with a solid move, 2-0. First period was pretty tight but we had better chances. Right after second period started, we gained our lead to three. Our super-defenseman (pqohi) gave a brilliant quick pass to our right winger (Maskuta), who once again finished nicely, 3-0. We were confident. We just had to play smart hockey in the third period to win this one. We actually scored a couple of goals even that we focused more on defence. Our left winger (Kookasi) made them both. He concluded his hattrick with a breakaway goal and took us to 5-0 lead. Game ended at those numbers. A nice clean shutout to our goalie, mr. Masa Punda, with 10 saves. We won the shots 15-10 and time on attack 7.05-2.49. Very happy and a bit suprised at this result. GJ Guys!

Game 2:

Our line-up: Kookasi-CiciStar-Maskuta-Pqohi-Raisinger-Octobussy
Their line-up: Hemsky91-KsE-Legendary-KsE-Lycidas-Sean_Rammer-Fetzer29-schmid0_55

Their homegame. Both teams sticked with familiar line-ups - no changes. We were really happy at the result of the first game but we knew that it would be an easy mistake to think that the second game would be as easy as the first. We were going against a hungry hometeam, no room for mistakes. First period started and we scored first. Beautiful passing play between our three forwards and Maskuta got the honour to put the first one to the scoreboard. After that they evened the score. Their forward came pretty close to our net and our guy poked the puck off and unfortunately it trickled slowly to our net, 1-1. Tight first period. We decided to take the lead in the second with aggressive offence. It worked. We scored a dirty poke in goal on powerplay and after that Kookasi fought his own rebound to the back of the net, 3-1 already! 16 seconds before the end of the period we made a nice quick goal on a 2vs1 attack, 4-1. After that we dozed off and they scored their second, only five goddamn seconds before the period ended. We were the better team in the second period, but the game wasn´t over yet. Third one started and we tried to play smart and minimize mistakes. We played fairly well but scored in the last minute with a lucky goal. Their forward didn´t even shoot the puck but since he was tackled, the puck flew over our goalie and in to the net. After that they created another good one-timer chance but time ran out and we won the game, 4-3. Very soothing result after all. This second game was a tight one. They actually won the shots 16-17, but we had more time on attack 5.57-4.44. All in all, good result and a good game from our goalie, the punda. Gj guys! Proud of ya!

Thanks to KsE Teutons for these games and the best of luck to the future!

EHL update

Yesterday we played two games against frostbolt, from Russia. We weren´t that nervous about these games. We knew that if we play our own game, we should be able to get those 4 points. We won the first one 4-0. It was their homegame and some of us had some connection issues. Anyways, we were the better team and deserved the win. We won the shots 20-6 and time on attack 7.41-1.37. Two points, that´s what counts. Second game, pretty easy too. Shot 19-6 and time on attack 6.30-2.42. We didn´t bring our A-game to this one either, but we did what we needed to do to get the points. Solid 7-1 win in the second game. 4 points.

Game 1:  http://www.consolehockey.net/matches/5716-569474
Game 2: http://www.consolehockey.net/matches/5719-569475

We have 3 opponents left in the group stage. KsE Teutons on wednesday, murohoki on thursday and HC Storm next monday. So there are 6 games left. At the moment we are in the lead with 16/16 points in group D. Wrong Door Danglers are behind us with 12 points. KsE Teutons have 11 points but they have played only 6 games instead of 8. We are pretty confident that we are gonna make it to the playoffs. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Woodhands vs Wrong Door Danglers

Two tough games tonight against WDD. Both teams had 8 points before these games.

Game 1

Our line-up: Jansku23-CiciStar-Maskuta-Eliminaattori-Raisinger-Octobussy
Their line-up: Akin71-MARTIN-JAKOBSEN-BuffyTBH-Slimjimmpc-nifama-ifk96

Our homegame. We played well in the first period and scored first in the end of it. Our right winger (Maskuta) stole the puck from a defenceman and placed it to the back of the net. 1-0 after first. Second period started and they scored right in the beginning of it. Our forward lost the puck and they turned the situation around with a good counter-attack. Quick pass and their forward was on a breakaway, 1-1. Third period started and we were confident that we can pull this off. After a couple of missed opportunities we finally took the lead. Time stopped at 11.29 of the third period. We attacked and a pass bounced weirdly to Maskuta who reacted quickly and finished our second goal, 2-1 lead. I think that killed the game because they didn´t have any really good chances after that and our right winger finished his hattrick with a wrap-around 30 seconds before the end. We were the better team. We won shots 19-10 and time on attack 8.20-2.27. Solid 3-1 win. Our goalie (Mr. Masa Punda) did a great job once again! And of course, gotta mention the man of the match: our right winger, Maskuta. Three nice goals - Great job dude! :)

Game 2

Our line-up: Jansku23-CiciStar-Maskuta-Eliminaattori-Raisinger-Octobussy
Their line-up: Akin71-MARTIN-JAKOBSEN-BuffyTBH-Slimjimmpc-nifama-ifk96

Their homegame. No changes in line-ups. I had some worries that after intensive and relieving first game, we wouldnt play at our best. Bullshit! They were already crushed! Okay, the first period ended 0-0 and it was pretty tight gameplay and there weren´t those really good chances. Still, we capitalised our momentum in the second with three beautiful goals. Maskuta scored the first one after Jansku23s great pass. Maskuta scored the second one too. After CiciStars backhand-effort Masku took the puck and shoved it in. Jansku23 made the third one after good quick pass from Maskuta. All those three goals in 4,24 minutes. Hockey is a momentum-game! 3-0 after two periods. In the third period our red-hot right winger made a couple of more goals which were a bit lucky, I have to admit. But nevertheless, even the brown-ones count. We controlled this game by winning the shots 19-7 and time on attack 8.42-2.35. Very nice 5-0 win and a shutout to our trusted number-one goalie! And of course, again... Great game by Maskuta, 4 goals in this game and 7+1 in these two games. Well done guys, all of you!

Thanks to WDD for these two nice games! :)

Thanks for nothing vol2!

We were supposed to play two EHL-games tonight against West Coast Wasps. Well, they couldn´t even get six players online even though they tried to recruit more players from consolehockey-chat while we were supposed to already play against them! Yes, you heard it. Unbelievable. Thank you so much ashtongamingshow41. I sincerely hope that you wont participate in these tournaments in the future. At least with your own team. Two walkover wins I guess, what a shame.

Tomorrow we have games against WDD aka Wrong Door Danglers. Very good team that transferred to our group from the tough group A. They have a great goalie and skilfull forwards. We better bring our A-game to this one!

Woodhands vs Lehmäjoen Raamattupiiri

Tonight we played against these finnish guys who participated to this tournament now for the first time. They are not the most talented ones but they have that good team spirit and flow. Nice two games!

Game 1

Our line-up: Kookasi-gendlik-jansku23, Pqohi-Raisinger, octobussy
Their line-up: Gretski999-toni_koo-Twister_84-Pontuus85-Zahovich-heijariesa

Their homegame. First period was pretty tight. Still getting to know each other. We scored once: Great assist from our left winger (Kookasi) and our right defenseman (Raisinger) shot it straight to the net, 1-0. Only 26 seconds gone at the second period and we scored again. Just like the first one, good assist from our left winger and right defenseman scored with a slapshot, 2-0. After that game continued as even. They narrowed our lead to one, when they scored on a counter-attack. Failed pass to the middle and they had a great scoring chance. First shot didn´t go in but the rebound went, 2-1. It was a powerplaygoal. We went to the third period looking for the soothing two-goal-lead and we got it after six minutes. Our center (gendlik) passed the puck to our right winger (jansku23) who had sneaked behind the net. Quick wrap-around and the score was 3-1.After that the game was over. They weren´t really a threat to us but our lack of efficient scoring kept them in this game. After three periods we had won the shots 16-10 and time on attack 08.06-03.48. Still not one of our best performances but a good solid win, 3-1. Our goalie did a good job too.

http://www.consolehockey.net/matches/5435-569446

Game 2

Our line-up: Kookasi-gendlik-jansku23-Pqohi-Raisinger-octobussy
Their line-up: joonas12-toni_koo-Twister_84-Pontuus85-Zahovich-heijariesa

Our homegame. We didn´t make any changes. They changed their left winger. We scored first, at the end of the period. Beautiful passing-play within our three forwards and our center (gendlik) slaps it in. In second period we shifted to two-goal lead as we scored after stealing the puck in the corner. Quick pass and our left winger (Kookasi) makes it 2-0. The goal that got us the 3-0 lead was just like the first two in game one. Left winger passed and right defenseman scored with a powerfull slapshot. Before the end of the second period wild things happened. First they got a breakaway but the puck ended up moving slowly to the left post and we turned the situation around and counter-attacked! Quick pass to our left winger who sensed the situation correctly and scored a beautiful goal with a one-hander on a breakaway, 4-0. After two periods we already knew that we got this, but still wanted to play well and perhaps secure a shutout for our goalie. We scored twice in the end of the third period when they took bad penaltys. Game ended 6-0 and we were happy. Shots 17-6 and time on attack 8.54-3.10, well done boys. Shutout for our goalie, mr. Masa Punda. :)

Woodhands vs Nordic Nosebleed

First EHL games to us this year. NNb started their tournament yesterday against West Coast Wasps and murdered them 15-0 and 4-1.

Game 1

Our line-up: Jansku23-CiciStar-gendlik-pqohi-Raisinger-octobussy
Their line-up: Kribba-Mswenson-Lidaas-Cherrykicks-KnickeDikk-Jean-Claes

Their homegame. My god we were nervous! First period 0-0, we had 0 shots and they had 4. They also had a breakaway but our goalie, Mr. Masa Punda, stood tall! The game reminded me of a english footballmatch. I thought we would go to overtime, thats how few chances there were. And then, last minute of the second period. Faceoff from their defensive zone, right side. Centers tied it, our right winger (gendlik) took the puck and passed in front of the net. Jansku23 had an easy job to score! After that we got that good feeling that might just bite you in the ass if you dont pay attention! They came towards our net and took a shot, then rebound and the second rebound went in. I dont know if our guy chopped or poked it in, but the referee claimed that it went in from their leg. I thought it would count, but i was wrong. "No goal" said the referee. We got so lucky! Third period they tried their best and had a couple of chances, but we managed to defend good enough. First game and first win, 1-0. You cant ask for more, right? We can definitely play better, but a win is a good start. Our goalie played a great game. Shutout with 14 saves. Excellent job!

http://www.consolehockey.net/matches/5385-569438

Game 2

Our line-up: Jansku23-CiciStar-Maskuta-pqohi-Raisinger-octobussy
Their line-up: Kribba-Mswenson-Lidaas-Cherrykicks-KnickeDikk-Jean-Claes

Our homegame. We made one change to our line-up. We replaced gendlik with Maskuta. They didnt make any changes. This time we weren´t that nervous anymore, but still not relaxed enough to play like we can at our best. First period ended 0-0. No good scoring chances. At the second period they scored first. Lucky bounce of the goalies glove and rebound in, 0-1. We answered really quickly as we scored on the next attack, only 38 seconds after their goal. Our right winger (Maskuta) passed to the left defenceman (pqohi) who shot it right away to the back of the net. Their goalie looked surprised. After that we pressured them right away and got a goal. Couple of passes and our left winger (Jansku23) had an easy job to deliver the puck in. 2-1 after two. When third period started, I said to myself "lets just play smart, keep it simple", but right away we took a bad penalty, tripping 2min. They used time and space well and scored. Pass from behind the net, shot came out of the post and right to the blade of their other attacker. Two minutes after that, we took the lead again. A couple of passes and our right defenceman (Raisinger) got the honour to score. Slapshot and hands up in the air. We felt comfortable and believed that we can handle this. Five minutes before the end we (Jansku23) scored on a breakaway. Despite the lucky last minute goal they made in the end, we had no danger in defensive-zone after that fourth goal. 4-3 win. Our goalie played a solid game once again with 14/17 saves. Good job.

Thanks for the games NNb!

Thanks for nothing!

We were supposed to play two EHL games against Surte Sisu HC yesterday. We sent them PSN-messages and two matchtime propositions and we really were looking forward to our EHL start! What happened? Well, Surte Sisu HC never answered anything to us. And they weren´t even online yesterday, none of them. We waited them in our lockerroom but they had no intentions what-so-ever to play. Why bother register to the tournament if you are not going to play and just cause harm to other teams? F*cking idiots! Even if we get those 5-0 automatic wins, which we atleast deserve, we aren´t happy. We rather play these games, because there are only two EHL tournaments per year.

Tonight we are going against Nordic Nosebleed. We have already set the matchtime with them (20.00 GMT). It seems that we wont get our best line-up against them but we are gonna fight like wolverines! It´s not going to be a piece of cake though.

LETS GO W00DHANDS !!!

tiistai 30. lokakuuta 2012

Thoughts before EHL

Hey!

EHL starts tomorrow and our first opponent is Surte Sisu HC from Sweden. I think we haven´t played against these guys yet in the NHL13. I did some research and their stats are not that good and they havent played much 6vs6 matches, but we cant underestimate them. In the NHL12 Europe Cup we played against them twice. First game they won 4-5 in overtime but we did better in the second game and won it 3-1. So it isn´t going to be a piece of cake. Will see. I am going to do a little report here about those first two games tomorrow or at thursday.

Thurday we have our second EHL games and again against some talented swedes. Nordic (mothafcking) Nosebleed. They are good! We better be ready. But lets focus first on Surte Sisu HC. More about NNb later.

Lets talk about basketcase! Please put Green Days "basket case" playing while reading my super important text. So, HC Iskukoukku gave up before the tournament even started. Therefore an amateur group named "Mighty Rangers" from Russia took their place in the tournament. To me it sounds pretty obvious that Mighty Rangers should come to group D, because thats where HC Iskukoukku was. However now consolehockey-admin is going to move Wrong Door Danglers to group D and Mighty Rangers to group A, so that groups would be more even! I get the idea of it but I still dont agree. The idea of a fair draw loses its meaning! I mean luck is and should be a part of the deal in these draws. Now this "match fixing" kind of battles against it. And now to the basketcase! I was told that 16 teams were placed in so called "1st basket" that supposed to have the best teams in it. Okay, it is pretty hard to limit those teams good enough to 1st basket, to 16. When I watch these groups, there are 18 "1st basket"-candidates. In group A there are 6 of them. In group B there are 4 of them. In group C there are 3 of them and in group D there are 5 of them (HC Iskukoukku included). So if you are going to even the groups, you should take a good look at all four of them before doing anything! I have spoken. I wont cry about this anymore! :)

Tomorrow it begins!

sunnuntai 28. lokakuuta 2012

PS3 EHL Draw

The draw has been completed!

Woodhands were able to avoid the "group of death" which is group A. Miracle on Ice, Remember the Name, Blessed 1s, Wrong Door Danglers, Nordic Sensation, Carlsberg HC and a couple of other teams, I almost feel bad for them. In our group, which is group D, we have West Coast Wasps, HC STORM, Nordic Nosebleed, Lehmäjoen Raamattupiiri, frostbolt, Surte Sisu HC, murohoki, KSE Teutons, HC Iskukoukku and ofcourse us, Woodhands. Only four goes to the playoffs and I think Nordic Nosebleed, HC Iskukoukku, KSE Teutons, murohoki and Surte Sisu HC are our best opponents. It is going to be an interesting tournament. Let the best club win!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Murohoki on aina paha vaikka sieltä on terävin kärki kaikonnutkin. Nordic Nosebleed on todella kova parhaalla kokoonpanollaan. Vanhanliiton tyylikäs, hyvin yhteen pelaava ruotsalaisjoukkue, pirun taitaviakin. KsE Teutons on muistaakseni todella kova saksalaisjoukkue, TOP10 sijoilla pyörivät.

Start

Hey!

As a owner/gm of the woodhands eashl-franchise, I would like to welcome you to our blog-page. We are a finnish team. Top10 in europe, I think. We will participate in the EHL tournament which starts next week. You can check it out in www.consolehockey.net.

I wont write in english that often, so you might have to use "google translate" sometimes.

Excuse my "rally-english". Tommi Mäkinen knows what I am talking about.

Se on Boris tässä terve! Puukäsien ikioma Silvio Berlusconi, kaiken pahan alku ja loppu. Silviolle muuten lämpimät terveiset sinne kiven sisään ja kiitokset viimeisestä.

Asiaan.
